Licensing

The Real Estate Industry is regulated by the Office of Fair Trading QLD (OFT) and therefore; there are requirements for all employees (operating under a licensee) to complete prior to employment. All Sales People and Property Managers are required to hold a ‘Salesperson Certificate’ that is issued by the OFT.

In order to become accredited with the OFT, you need to complete a ‘Statement of Attainment’ which can be completed with either of these two main training providers on the Sunshine Coast.

At the completion of your course and required assessments to demonstrate your learning, you will be provided with a ‘Statement of Attainment’ which then supports your application for a ‘Salesperson Certificate’ with the OFT.

Real Estate Institute of QLD (REIQ)

The REIQ is the peak body for real estate and therefore is one of our preferred training providers. They are based in Brisbane and run training courses a couple of times each month in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. The course can be completed solely online or a blended delivery of online and in-class.

Complete Property Training

Complete Property Training is a privately owned locally run company based in Birtinya. Highly recommended and run by Peter Ford they are able to provide the required training both in person or remotely.

Timelines

We are often asked, ‘how long does it take’ to get into the industry? The licensing element is one of the most important elements to consider as essentially anyone legally employed within the industry requires the certification. The approximate timeline for the completion of the course and return of the certificate from the OFT is approx 8 Weeks.
